Wine Tasting in Batumi: How the Evening Goes
How a wine tasting works, what to try and why it's the best way to understand Georgian wine in one evening.
A wine tasting is the best way to understand Georgian wine in a single evening. Here's how it goes.
How a tasting works
- A set of several wines — usually 4–6 pours: whites to reds, light to full.
- A story for each wine — grape, region, winemaker. That's how the taste "reads".
- Food pairings — cheese, meat and local bites open the wine up.
- No snobbery — the goal isn't to "guess" but to find your own.
Tastings and lectures at LEVEL
We regularly host tastings and wine lectures with natural wines and ambers from private Georgian winemakers — often with a food pairing and live music.
Not sure where to start? Come to a tasting — you'll try more in one evening than in a week by the glass. Also read where to drink wine in Batumi. See the events here.
